Siklu Inc., the global market leader in millimeter-wave radios, announced it was selected by Netunwired LCC to backhaul a new wireless broadband network at the Aurora Sports Complex in Colorado. Siklu's wireless, Gigabit radios were selected for their out-of-the-box, easy to deploy characteristics, and inherent interference-free quality.
The Aurora Sports complex is a city-owned, 220 acre park with 39 play fields. Accommodating around 350,000 visitors a year, the park was in need of a high-speed broadband network to facilitate online payments and public Wi-Fi for the many concession kiosks around the park, and for day-to-day operations of the massive complex. When Netunwired LCC experts were selected by the city of Aurora to construct the network, they realized that trenching through the fields to connect 7 buildings would be costly, and potentially damaging to the park's irrigation system – hence its decision to go wireless.
"When we heard that the Sports Park would be needing interference-free wireless broadband, we immediately decided to deploy Siklu's high-availability, point-to-point radio systems. The selection proved to be beneficial not just for Internet speeds, as within 3 weeks, the new wireless system was up and also leveraged for additional services," said Tim Stewart, Owner and Manager, Netunwired LLC.
"Siklu's wireless solutions are especially suited for high-volume traffic areas susceptible to interference, such as recreation areas. The abundant mmWave spectrum facilitates reliable, multigigabit service, while Siklu's networking features enable resilient topologies as well as secured multi-services differentiation," said Craig Burgess, Sales Director, US West / CAN West, Siklu Communication.
Siklu will be showcasing its multigigabit backhauling solutions at WISPAmerica 2016, LV, Nevada, March 14-17, at Winncom Booth #413 and at Baltic Networks Booth #508, and also presenting its broadband solutions on March 17, 2PM, Room A.
