Polaroid today announced a new automobile dashcam, the Wi-Fi-enabled Polaroid PD-W63C, will be joining their collection of easy to use dash cameras available to consumers in the United States.
The Polaroid line of dashcams provide drivers with piece of mind by offering credible documentation for events that occur while on the road, and serving as a hands-free method of capturing their on-the-go experiences. The Polaroid PD-W63C and entire dashcam line will be on display at the Polaroid booth #13514 at the 2016 International Consumer Electronics Show, January 6-9 in Las Vegas.
“Polaroid has become a trusted brand for families seeking ways to easily capture and share life’s moments,” said Polaroid President and CEO, Scott W. Hardy. “As we continue to grow our product offering, we are pleased to announce the addition of a Wi-Fi-enabled model to our already wide array of dashcams. Now consumers have the ability to instantly share their road trip memories or quickly provide documentation of incidents while out on the road for even more peace of mind.”
The Polaroid PD-W63C dashcam captures clear and crisp 1296p HD video on-the-go. The camera’s Wi-Fi capabilities offer easy control through an Android or iOS app, while allowing for instant sharing of videos with friends and family or in the case of an incident. While the overall size of the camera is compact, the large 2.0” LED display screen is paired with a wide 150-degree angle lens, allowing users to capture a wide scope of moments, from unforeseen incidents to picturesque views. The Polaroid PD-W63C is also equipped with a built-in 3-axis G-force sensor, enabling hands-free video recording in the event of an accident. Emergency recording capabilities are automatically triggered when an accident occurs, and video recordings are subsequently dated and time stamped, protected from loop recording overwrites and saved on a Micro-SD card (up to 64GB).
Like the rest of the collection, thePolaroid PD-W63C dashcam is easy to use and simple to install. The camera comes equipped with a flexible mounting bracket, a car charger and an extra-long power cord that allows it to be mounted in multiple locations throughout the vehicle. While connected to the ignition switch, the dash camera will automatically turn on when the vehicle starts and automatically shut off when the vehicle turns off.
All models in the Polaroid line of automobile dashcams, offered by Giinii, an authorized Polaroid licensee, record in HD to capture any incident or event in clear detail. Select models include added safety features such as a lane departure warning system, a speed limit indicator and a GPS tracker to record incident location and speed. The Polaroid PD-W63C has an MSRP of $119.99 and will be available Q1 2016. Other models in the Polaroid dashcam line are currently available at select retailers.
