Leviton recently announced the expansion of its portfolio of LED lighting fixtures with a new line of industrial grade fixtures designed specifically for use in general industrial and hazardous classified locations.
These products are designed to provide lighting for areas where water, vibration, maintenance or temperature can negatively affect conventional lighting fixtures. The product category includes a comprehensive collection of area floodlights, linear fixtures and spotlights.
"As part of our commitment to strategic growth and innovation in the LED lighting product category, we identified a need with our industrial customers which led to the new solution that addresses those heavy-duty requirements," said Michael Mattei, Vice President and General Manager of Leviton Commercial & Industrial. "Many of the fixtures have features that are unique to the industry, and provide safer and more cost-effective solutions than what is currently available from other manufacturers."
One of the key features of many of the luminaires in this category is low voltage DC power input. By incorporating the use of DC power, these fixtures provide a simple and efficient lighting solution for solar and battery powered systems with no inverter loss and the ability to provide the same lighting conditions at up to one-tenth the power consumption. All of these advantages result in longer battery life and smaller solar packages.
The current portfolio of industrial LED luminaires consists of the RS Series area/floodlights, GS Series indoor linear fixtures, G6 Series outdoor linear fixtures and CN Series spot/task light fixtures.
"With the advancements in efficiency and lowered cost of today's LED luminaires, the industrial sector is poised for widespread adoption of this technology," stated Mr. Mattei. "Our current portfolio and pipeline of products in development will serve to promote this transition."
In order to take full advantage of all of the benefits that Leviton industrial LED luminaires provide, Leviton will also be offering complimentary lighting layout services, leveraging a team of knowledgeable and experienced specialists to design, engineer and implement lighting systems specific to an application.
