CALIENT Technologies to Exhibit at IIR Next Generation Optical Networking Conference

CALIENT Technologies, Inc., the global leader in Optical Circuit Switching technology, today announced it will exhibit and present at the upcoming IIR Next Generation Optical Networking Conference to be held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Dallas, Texas, on Oct. 5-7.

At the event, CALIENT will showcase its S-Series Optical Circuit Switches that are being deployed in very high volumes in web-scale data center optical networks to deliver improved utilization of expensive compute and storage resources.

Also on display will be the recently announced SD-WAN application that allows service providers to accelerate deployment of software-defined networking (SDN) across the WAN regardless of the vendor or vintage of the transport system deployed.

David Altstaetter, CALIENT’s Senior Director of PLM and Solutions, will present on a panel of industry leaders from Microsoft, Equinix, and TeliaSonera on data center interconnect (DCI), titled: “DCI – Enabling Seamless Connectivity between Data Centers.”

CALIENT S-Series Optical Circuit Switches

CALIENT builds the highest port density Optical Circuit Switches (OCS) in the networking industry. The S-Series includes the S320, a 320-port OCS and the S-160, a 160-port OCS. The switches allow any-to-any network connections with almost no latency and can be reconfigured on demand through network management or SDN controllers via a range of standard APIs. Small form factor, extremely low power consumption, almost unlimited scalability, and Telcordia-grade reliability make the CALIENT switches ideal for a range of data center and service provider applications.
