ECOC 2015: Viavi to Demonstrate Latest Innovations in Optical Communications

Viavi Solutions today announced that it will highlight its latest solutions that enable and accelerate quality optical communications networks and services during the 41st European Conference on Optical Communications (ECOC) at Fiera Valencia in Valencia, Spain, Sept. 27 - Oct. 1, booth #100.

Viavi helps global customers, including those serving the fiber optic industry at ECOC, to profitably scale, meet demands of exploding applications, connected devices and video, and transition to virtualized, software-based networks, 100G and more.

A fully-integrated portfolio of cloud-enabled instruments and systems, software automation, and services offered by Viavi supports network testing, performance optimization, and service assurance. The company also provides comprehensive intelligence, visibility and insight about network infrastructure, applications, service delivery and customer experience.

At booth #100, Viavi will demonstrate its most recent offerings and key solution updates:

FVAi Microscope. From post-polish qualification inspection to end-of-line compliance certification, Viavi's FVAi digital bench-top microscope inspection solution for fiber connector production gives users a single system that can be scaled to optimize throughput at any stage of the production process. With on-board capabilities for inspection, pass/fail image analysis and storage, the FVAi eliminates the added step of connecting with an external PC. The FVAi also incorporates several time saving automated features, including auto-focus and auto-centering, to optimize workflow efficiency on the production floor.

ONT 25Gbps. Enabling network equipment manufacturers (NEMs) to be proactive in developing optics and equipment ready for the 10 to 25Gbps technology evolution in the datacenter, Viavi has introduced a 25Gbps interface on its industry-leading ONT platform. With this new interface, the ONT will help enable NEMs to develop high quality 25Gbps transponders, SERDES interfaces and the necessary control software. Viavi will also demonstrate a preview of it latest 400G innovations for NEMs.

PacketPortal JMEP and Intelligence Visibility (PP-IV) Enhancements. Viavi is introducing additional interface options for the PacketPortal JMEP and Intelligence Visibility (PP-IV) families of intelligent, small form factor pluggable transceivers (SFPs). With the new EtherAssure release 10.5 and the addition of the new 1 GE EX, ZX and 1000BASE-T copper/RJ-45 and synchronous Ethernet (SyncE) enabled intelligent SFPs, Viavi is providing additional optical and copper based interface options and the extraction of SyncE synchronization/clocking. With the new SyncE-enabled JMEP and PP-IV intelligent SFPs, customers may now use SyncE signaling which supports several applications, including advanced mobile networks and access technologies such as Ethernet passive optical networks, IPTV and VoIP.
