The industrial machine vision is a technology for all automation tasks. For quality inspection as well as for production optimization. New application possibilities are discovered constantly. The advantage is, that due to the application of machine vision, errors are avoided and the waste of material are diminished.

EVT for example offers complete machine vision systems and also specially custom-made solutions with the EyeVision image processing software. One application is the inspection of lettering and quality of cables.
On the one hand EyeVision offers commands for OCR/ OCV reading, which also checks the presence and the quality of the labeling. On the other hand the software has a complete code reading command set for reading bar code, QR and DMC, no matter if the code is printed, hot stamped or laser printed etc.
But the EyeVision system can also visually inspect the product quality of the cables. For example if the cable is too flat or too narrow. EyeVision can also detect errors on the surface of the cable such as cracks, dents or blisters. Additionally the software can check the color of the copper core and also the distance between the cores. EyeVision detects also a jumper, waists and twists of copper cores.
The handling of the EyeVision software is intuitive self-explanatory, which means that the user can create inspection programs without programming skills. The programs can be created with the drag-and-drop function of the software and the commands are explained by the context help in the graphical user interface.
