Spennymoor based company LED Supply and Fit help save Stockton Riverside College 60% on their lighting bill with switch to eco friendly lighting system
Stockton Riverside College will soon enjoy the benefits of switching to LED lighting thanks to Spennymoor based company, LED Supply and Fit. The switch will save the college 60% on their lighting bill, highlighting the growing need for businesses to embrace modern lighting technologies.
Based in Thornaby-on-Tees, Stockton Riverside College offers a wide range of courses for students from Stockton-on-Tees and the surrounding areas. Installation of the new LED lighting at the college will start on Monday 20th July, starting with the SRC2 building and moving on to the SRC1 building after completion. It will take 2 weeks to complete the initial installation in SRC2 and this switch alone will save the college £6,896 a year, a 60% saving on their current energy bill. With less fittings used with the new LED lights, the college will also benefit from no future servicing as the lights produce 90% more lumens than their existing fittings.
Working with Stockton Riverside College's Head of Infrastructure, Neville Dart, the LED Supply and Fit team will work to successfully cut the college's carbon emissions by 70%. Over the past year LED Supply and Fit have replaced over 900,000 standard lights with energy saving LED lights, resulting in millions of pounds saved by their customers, both business and residential. This also adds up to a 3,000 tonne reduction in overall carbon emissions.
Paul Makepeace, LED Supply and Fit partner, explains 'LED lights are the most eco friendly solution, they are proven to last a lot longer than standard halogen lights which many businesses in the area are still using. We're thrilled to be working with Stockton Riverside College to deliver another bespoke service that will undoubtedly benefit both their current energy bills and their environmental impact'
More and more businesses are making the switch to LED lighting solutions to save on their current lighting bills. Compared to standard halogen or incandescent lights, they offer a multitude of benefits including a much longer life span, no warm up time due to their instant switch on and no IR or UV emissions.
