Molex Expert to Present on ‘Empowerment Through Light’ at TEDxBentleyU

Molex Incorporated, a leading global manufacturer of electronic solutions, today announced Victor Zaderej will present at a March 28th TEDx event based on the theme Coalescence being hosted by Bentley University, Waltham, MA.

The TEDxBentleyU presentation “Empowerment Through Light” showcases important milestones in the evolution of light, including the massive transformation underway with the phasing out of incandescent bulbs. Since 2009, presenter Zaderej has overseen technical and strategic direction in the development of next-generation light emitting diode (LED) solutions for the Molex solid-state lighting (SSL) business division.

“SSL technology gives us a powerful platform for positive change and to make a brighter future for millions of people,” said Victor Zaderej, director of SSL product development for Molex. “Truly state-of-the-art lighting solutions depend on a pipeline of innovative and affordable technology, which is where Molex shines.”

Zaderej received an M.S. in mechanical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and completed an M.B.A. at Quinnipiac University. He holds 38 patents in the fields of electrical packaging, thermal management, electrical interconnects, energy conservation, and solid-state lighting. Passionate about attainable and sustainable technology, Zaderej helps train architects, homeowners and builders on the design of super high efficiency residential homes. He has collaborated with the U.S. Department of Energy and Oakridge Laboratories, and served on the board of the Illinois Renewable Energy Association.

Zaderej’s TEDxBentleyU presentation explores energy efficient lighting technologies and the life-changing power of light. An estimated one and a half billion people live without access to light other than the sun—more people than existed in the world in 1879 when Thomas Edison invented the light bulb. Lighting advances hold the potential to change lives on a global scale. Zaderej wants to shine a light on the charitable organization Watts of Love, which provides portable solar powered light sources to people in parts of the world without access to an electrical grid system.

“Today, the gift of light brings hope to some of the darkest regions of the world. High efficiency lighting improves lives in myriad ways, some of which not yet even imagined,” adds Zaderej.

By combining electrical, thermal and optical expertise with innovative in-house design and manufacturing capabilities, Molex supports lighting designers and manufacturers with world-class LED modules and other solutions for the SSL market.
