Access Fixtures is announcing the introduction of new LED amber wall packs as part of its comprehensive line up of wildlife-friendly luminaires. Wildlife-friendly lighting is often required in areas where excessive artificial lighting can disturb ecosystems, such as coastal areas where sea turtles need a dark sky to orient and migrate towards the ocean.
Access Fixtures LED wall packs that emit amber light produce light visible to humans, but not to most species typically affected by artificial lighting. LED wall packs are ideal for lighting buildings, walkways, and parking areas in commercial, residential or industrial applications.
"Light pollution is a growing problem for many species, but it wouldn't make sense to eliminate lighting completely," said Access Fixtures CEO, Steven Rothschild. He continued, "Access Fixtures LED amber wall packs safely illuminate areas for humans without disturbing fragile ecosystems."
While many species can see wavelengths used in fluorescent, incandescent, and metal halide light sources, they cannot see longer wavelengths like 590 nm used in amber LEDs. With all the benefits of LED lighting, these amber wall packs do not affect or harm most wildlife. Rated for 100,000 hours, the wildlife friendly LED wall packs are long-lasting, energy-efficient, and require minimal maintenance as compared to other light sources. Wall packs that emit amber light are not visible for most wildlife affected by artificial lighting, but it is important to check with your local ordinance to identify the specific species it focuses on and the nanometer of light required. Access Fixtures luminaires are assembled in USA with USA and imported parts.
