UTStarcom Participates in Next Generation Packet Transport Networks Conference in India

UTStarcom, a global telecommunications infrastructure provider, today announced that it will participate in the upcoming Next Generation Packet Transport Networks Conference in India on September 23 and 25, 2014.

UTStarcom will send a delegation of seven representatives, led by Mr. William Wong, Chief Executive Officer and Mr. Min Xu, Chief Financial Officer.

Next Generation Packet Transport Networks is a prominent Indian telecom industry event and will address topical industry developments from around the globe. UTStarcom will give a presentation on its Software Defined Networking (SDN) solution and its ability to help network operators better monetize network assets and offer new value-add and dynamic services. The Company's attendees will also participate in two panel discussions titled "Saving Capex and Opex and Delivering New Services with Carrier SDN" and "Defining the Next Generation Metro Edge and Backhaul Networks."

India is a strategic market for UTStarcom and one in which the Company has established a leadership position. UTStarcom incorporated in India in 2001 and currently has around 35% market share in the country's broadband infrastructure market. UTStarcom recently signed a contract to supply multi-service access network (MSAN) equipment and support design, engineering and installation for Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. (BSNL), India's leading telecom service provider. BSNL is upgrading its network to offer Next Generation Multi-Media Services to its customers.
