ADVA Optical Networking announced today that it will be participating at the European Advanced Networking Test Center's (EANTC's) multi-vendor interoperability showcase at the MPLS SDN World Congress 2014 in Paris, France.
The showcase features the company's Syncjack(TM) solution for the delivery and assurance of precise timing synchronization over packet networks. The test network includes equipment from several leading suppliers specializing in network synchronization and focuses on the latest advances in the industry, including boundary clock, transparent clock and mini-Grandmaster functionality for fiber- and microwave-based Carrier Ethernet 2.0 networks.
"Mobile network operators are about to face some of the biggest challenges in their history. The actions they take over the next year will directly impact upon their customers and their bottom line," said Michael Ritter, VP Technical Marketing and Analyst Relations, ADVA Optical Networking. "Migrating to LTE and especially LTE-Advanced is no small task, specifically when it comes to phase synchronization delivery and assurance. Increasing the density of radio base stations is only one part of the equation. Exact phase alignment between them is required to deliver the improved bandwidth and user experience that LTE-Advanced promises."
ADVA Optical Networking successfully demonstrated full support for IEEE 1588v2 PTP, including slave, boundary clock and Grandmaster functions, attesting to the ability of its FSP 150SP-100 synchronization service delivery and assurance technology to generate, terminate or support the path of PTP. The FSP 150SP-100 forms an integral part of the FSP 150 family, an intelligent Ethernet access, backhaul and aggregation solution supporting Syncjack(TM) timing distribution and assurance.
