MultiPhy, Ltd, a global leader in DSP-based high bandwidth CMOS communications semiconductors for Data Center and Metro Connectivity, today announced the achievement of a successful integration and interoperability demonstration of the MP1100Q MLSE Receiver/DEMUX and MP1101Q MUX Chipset with TeraXion’s CS-DCL, the smallest optical chromatic dispersion compensator from the leading manufacturer of optical components and modules for high-speed networks.
As next generation Data Center networks get deployed, the need for inexpensive and low power metro links for 100G transmission becomes greater. Traditionally at the 10G rate, these links have reached up to 80km, otherwise known as the ZR standard. “There is a tremendous amount of interest in providing a solution that fits the performance envelope of the existing10G-ZR links in the network today”, said Neal Neslusan, VP of Marketing and Sales at MultiPhy, Inc. “The combination of MultiPhy’s and TeraXion’s world-class offerings provide a superb solution that can be realized in a low-power, pluggable CFP for these cost sensitive applications.”
The market demands that an 80km 100G solution perform seamlessly in the established 10G network and adapt to special compensation tolerances. The combination of the MultiPhy chipset, with its variable dispersion compensation characteristics, along with the TeraXion device’s unique footprint makes the design in a CFP module a reality. “With an heritage of more than a decade of sustained innovation in FBG technology, TeraXion is now pleased to offer a very compact optical dispersion compensator to extend the reach of future next-generation 100G metro links”, said Martin Guy, VP Product Management and CTO at TeraXion.
MultiPhy will be available for meetings at the OFC show in San Francisco, California on March 11 - 13 in Booth #3179 to discuss this application and other applications of the MP1100Q/MP1101Q chipset as well as future developments. Please contact Neal Neslusan at [email protected], +1 978 302 5700 to arrange for a booth visit.
TeraXion also invites you to stop by their OFC Booth #1902 where the CS-DCL will officially be launched.
