Frontier Optical Transport Service Now Available in 25 States

Frontier Communications Corporation today announced that Frontier Optical Transport Service is now available in its markets in 25 states. This service delivers point-to-point transparent fiber paths specific to interexchange carriers, competitive local exchange carriers, Internet service providers, and carriers and enterprise customers requiring extensive bandwidth and secure transport backed by service level agreements.

Frontier’s Optical Transport Service’s point-to-point dedicated wavelength uses a shared infrastructure with protocol support and protection configurations. The system’s self-healing network transport provides high-speed, site-to-site, reliable, flexible and redundant connections.

Frontier Optical Transport Service is now available to all carrier and enterprise customers with 10 gigabit capability within Frontier’s exchanges in Alabama, Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, Nevada, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia and Wisconsin.

“The need for carrier class rural transport drove this service,” said Todd Wells, senior vice president of revenue strategy. “High-capacity bandwidth is a business necessity everywhere, not only within major metropolitan areas. Our more rural and suburban consumers can count on Frontier for the speed, capacity and reliability they need to remain competitive.”
