VIXAR Develops VCSEL Technology for Multiple Applications

Vixar designs, develops, and manufactures short wavelength (670nm to 1000nm) Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Lasers (VCSELs) in a variety of packages for multiple applications. Vixar is building a reputation for designing and developing "hard to do" VCSELs for new applications.

Vixar has invested heavily in 680nm (red) VCSEL technology, becoming the first to offer product in single mode and multi-mode packages along with multiple VCSELs in power array formats with additional investment in 770nm to 795nm as well as 850nm to 895nm wavelengths.

Vixar is leading the transition from edge emitting lasers (EELs) and light emitting diodes (LEDs) to VCSELs, providing improved product performance along with greater cost efficiency.

Vixar is uniquely qualified to provide multiple markets with leading technology for their specific market defining applications such as gesture recognition, medical sensors, laser therapy, proximity sensors and driving plastic optical fiber.
