Mindspeed Technologies, Inc., a leading supplier of semiconductor solutions for network infrastructure applications, has introduced the M02036-13, a next-generation, high-performance GPON burst-mode TIA targeted for GPON optical line termination (OLT) equipment based on ITU-T G.984.2 OLT Class C+ specifications.
"Mindspeed offers the industry's most comprehensive optical physical media device (PMD) portfolio for fiber-access networks," said Hasnain Bajwa, senior vice president and general manager, high-performance analog (HPA), at Mindspeed. "We continue to bring innovative solutions to market that help accelerate the adoption of next generation broadband technology."
"Mindspeed®'s new GPON OLT TIA offers superior optical sensitivity and overload at lower power," said Dr. David Li, general manager of the Fiber Optics Business at Hisense. "This new TIA will enable us to offer higher performance OLT transceivers to our customers, further accelerating the deployment of GPON technology to residences and businesses worldwide."
Mindspeed will be highlighting its M02036-13 burst-mode TIA for GPON OLT Class C+ applications at the 15th Annual China International Optoelectronic Expo (CIOE), September 4-7, 2013, in Hall 1, Booth#1A76 at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center in Shenzhen, China. The company will also be showcasing its latest generation companion burst-mode laser drivers, along with other members of its family of physical media dependent (PMD) solutions for GEPON, GPON, XG-PON1 and 10G-EPON applications.
Technical Details
The new Mindspeed M02036-13 GPON burst-mode TIAs offer superior optical sensitivity of -33dBm to meet or exceed ITU-T G.984.2 Class C+ and FSAN Class C+ specifications. The TIA features excellent overload performance with wide dynamic range of greater than 25dBm and fast output settling time. The TIA outputs can be used in either single-ended or differential configurations with internal terminations for design simplicity.
