Laser Energetics, Inc. today announced that they have successfully completed their first full Contract Proposal in response to the US Marine Corps' (MARCORSYSCOM) Ocular Interruption (OI) Program.
The OI Program, which Laser Energetics has been competing for over the last three years through demonstrations, conferences, invite-only events and testing, is a five-year IDIQ contract with a $49 million value, which is 100% set-aside for small business closing the door on any large businesses from responding. The goal of this procurement is to phase out and replace the currently fielded LA-9/P and Mini Green Laser systems. Laser Energetics has submitted its proposal to MARCORSYSCOM with its newly designed system called the Dazer Laser® GHOST (GHOST stands for Global Hostility Ocular Suppression Technology) which incorporates Automated Continuously Variable Divergence ™, or A-CVD™. By incorporating the new A-CVD, in which LEI has applied for a patent, the system can automatically adjust the system's range of engagement and irradiance levels whereas to provide the operator with the safest and most effective engagement at all ranges without sacrificing the safety of the operator and/or the intended targets.
Robert D. Battis, Founder, President & CEO of Laser Energetics, Inc., stated, "We are very excited to have successfully submitted our first official US Military Contract Proposal for our Dazer Laser® -- Light Fighting Technologies. We have previously responded to Requests for Information and Broad Agency Announcements with the US Navy, US Army, SOCOM and Joint Non-Lethal Weapons Directorate, but this contract submission is a first and we are very proud to be heavily engaged and competing for the US Marine Corps. The introduction of A-CVD is a game-changer because no longer does a system have to automatically shut off at a pre-determined range or lower its power to operate safe only. Now the Warfighter can have the most effective OI System in the world, which makes them safer while they engage the threat. Being both safe and effective at all required ranges is the only way our Warfighters are the most effective Military on the planet; and Laser Energetics is committed to that outcome."
In addition, our Dazer Laser® Team will be attending the 8th Annual Night Vision Systems Event being held July 29-31 in Washington DC. This event has a key focus on adapting the next generation of night vision systems, for which we are actively pursuing with our Dazer Laser® STEALTH system for the US Army. Laser Energetics thanks its loyal shareholders for their continued support, as after more than three years of competing for the MARCORSYSCOM OI Program, we have finally been able to submit our full contract proposal successfully for the five-year $49 million IDIQ contract.
