Packing unprecedented versatility into a single endoscopic video system, Richard Wolf Medical Instruments Corp. introduces the Endocam Logic HD, equipped with three interchangeable, high-definition camera heads that plug in to a single control unit to perform a multitude of procedures.
"It's the MVP of endoscopic video systems," said Monica Sanders , Corporate Director of Marketing for Richard Wolf . "The Endocam Logic HD puts one-stop shopping, ingenious flexibility and touch-screen ease at physicians' fingertips."
Each of the three camera heads produces full 1080p high-definition imagery for maximum clarity, brightness and detail. But it is the flagship Pendual camera head that exceeds boundaries with its ability to rotate between a 90-degree angle (for resection procedures) and an axial, or straight, orientation (for cystoscopy).
"The programmable camera head buttons allow the user to snap images, turn on the light source, trigger a second image source for picture-in-picture and much more," said Christian Zimmer , Richard Wolf 's Product Manager for Video Systems. "Moreover, with the on-screen display feature, the surgeon can remain focused on the monitor and have an instant overview of the status from other devices such as the flow and pressure rate from the insufflator."
To meet the increasing demand for electronic medical records, the Endocam Logic HD captures and stores images in a built-in archive, with options to print or export them directly to a USB stick in jpg, tiff or PDF format. A touch screen on the camera control unit streamlines access to the main menu functions.
Pre-programmed with several application profiles that have been tested in clinical settings, the Endocam Logic HD also allows the physician to define individual settings for various procedures.
Thanks to a new coupler design, each camera head snaps on and off with a flick of the wrist. Heads and couplers are steam-autoclavable for fast turnaround and cost savings.
"As technology advances and new camera heads become available, they will be compatible with this unit. Any software upgrades could be easily imported via USB stick by the end user," Sanders said. "The Endocam Logic HD is primed for the future."
