Cambrios Technologies Corporation, the leader in nanotechnology-based solutions for transparent conductive electronic devices, today announced its partnership with LCD Display OEM/ODM manufacturer GVision Incorporated to create and promote integrated touchscreen LCD displays enabled by Cambrios’ ClearOhm™ coating material. Cambrios will showcase GVision’s L15AX Point-of-Sale (POS) display at the 2013 International CES in Las Vegas, January 8 – 11, 2013.
“ClearOhm coating material is ideal for large-area touch sensors and it will allow us to develop new product lines that are thin, light and shatter-proof to appeal to our customers and meet the stringent reliability and durability requirements in the industrial and commercial segments.”
.GVision is a leading Taiwan-based manufacturer of LCD display products used in applications such as POS terminals, interactive kiosks, cloud computing desktops and widescreen information/advertising. GVision serves the industrial, military, education and enterprise markets.
“We’re proud that a notable and successful OEM like GVision has selected ClearOhm materials to enable touch on their touchscreen LCD displays,” said John LeMoncheck, President and CEO of Cambrios. “The GVision partnership is a testament to ClearOhm material’s superior performance and reliability, and also demonstrates how our growing supply chain of film, sensor and final product manufacturers makes it easy for OEMs and ODMs to deliver high performance, cost-effective, ClearOhm material-based large area touch innovations.”
Cambrios’ durable ClearOhm transparent conductive material offers unparalleled optical performance and high conductivity on film (ranging from 10 to 300 Ohms/square), far surpassing the capabilities of indium tin oxide (ITO) and other previous generation conductive materials. ClearOhm coating materials are available at prices that enable the cost-effective development of consumer devices.
“We’re excited to work with Cambrios because their ClearOhm material on film offers optical and electrical performance superior to ITO on film and provides thinner, lighter and unbreakable devices compared to ITO on glass,” said Michael Gauer, Vice-President of GVision Incorporated. “ClearOhm coating material is ideal for large-area touch sensors and it will allow us to develop new product lines that are thin, light and shatter-proof to appeal to our customers and meet the stringent reliability and durability requirements in the industrial and commercial segments.”
GVision plans to begin volume production shipments of the L15AX, its first ClearOhm-based product, a 15” Integrated Touchscreen LCD Display for POS terminal installations in the first quarter of 2013.
