LDI Introduces Novel High Power Monolithic Stack Pulsed Laser Diodes

OSI Laser Diode, Inc. (LDI), an OSI Systems Company, introduces a product family of high power monolithic stack pulsed laser diodes for a wide variety of military/defense, industrial, automotive, and machine vision applications.

High Power Monolithic Stack Pulsed Laser Diodes

Single and stacked pulsed laser diodes are available up to 375W and fiber-coupled devices are available up to 188W. Custom packaging is also available, upon customer request.

The new high reliability, high efficiency devices feature stable output from -40 degrees C to +85 degrees C for operation in extreme environments. The rise time is 1 nanosecond, the laser beam spread is 9 x 25 degrees, and the duty cycle (DC) is 0.1 percent.

OSI LDI’s high sensitivity monolithic stack pulsed laser diodes operate at typical peak wavelength of 905 nm (minimum at 895 nm and maximum at 915 nm) with a spectral width of 8 nm. The new family of devices is specified with drive conditions at 100ns, 30 Amps, 1 kHz at 25 degrees C. Peak power at 25 degrees C ranges from 60, 120, 180, 240, and 300 W, depending on the specific device required.

Ideal for applications such as rangefinding, ceilometers, weapons simulation, missile fuze initiators, battle field illumination, line of sight communication links, traffic monitoring , machine vision systems, topographical profiling, surveying equipment, LIDAR, laser speed guns, fog detection, optical thyristor initiation, adaptive cruise control, and more.
