Simpler and More Precise Measurements of Luminous Flux

The total light irradiated by a lamp in all directions is expressed by its luminous flux. To determine the luminous flux of lamps more rapidly, the lamp industry uses so-called integrating spheres.

A novel sphere scanner, which has been designed at PTB and then developed by a company in cooperation with PTB, and which is especially easy to use, now allows many companies for the first time to measure the homogeneity of their integrating sphere and, thus, to better assess the quality of their measurements.
