Digital Lightwave, a provider of optical test equipment and technologies for the telecom industry, today announced the support for advanced 40/100G testing on the already globally deployed NIC platform.
The NIC-based solution now provides tools to assist lab and field personnel for network equipment manufacturers and carriers with validation and acceptance of the 40/100G technology, as well as the commercial rollout that continues to gain momentum.
“Voice, video, and overall data consumption is increasing at an unprecedented pace. In order to meet the rising demands of the ‘data consumer,’ while staying competitive and profitable, carriers must quickly reduce their cost to deliver,” stated Al Zwan, President and CEO of Digital Lightwave. “At the same time, network equipment manufacturers must deliver solutions with a lower cost per port and technologies that better package the information being transmitted.”
Digital Lightwave’s one-box optical test solution supports all technologies and all rates from 100G down to 1.5M and is available in a portable, and rackmount form factor. The NIC-based solution verifies the new 100GE, 40GE, OTU4, OTU3, OC-768/STM-256, and more. It supports simultaneous multi-port multi-rate testing, simultaneous multi-user local and remote operation, advanced automation capabilities, and an industry-unmatched uniform test setup and workflow across all interfaces and technologies.
“With the NIC, lab and field personnel can add 40/100G capabilities to their existing test sets, and can share resources more efficiently, achieve higher collaboration within their organizations, and minimize test error,” continued Al Zwan. “We enable our customers to accelerate time to market for 40/100G while reducing rollout costs, so that they can achieve the expected goals faster.”
