Forth Dimension Displays to Introduce New Full-Color Microdisplay at SPIE Security + Defence Exhibition

Forth Dimension Displays (FDD) is one of the foremost suppliers of high-resolution microdisplays and a wholly owned auxiliary of Kopin.

For more than 10 years, FDD’s microdisplays have been useful in virtual reality head-mounted displays and high-performance training, quality electronic viewfinders in cinematography and vital applications in the medical and industrial markets.

FDD has proclaimed its plan to unveil its latest 0.83” QXGA microdisplay, which is touted to be a full-color, highest-resolution display in the world, at the SPIE Security + Defence Exhibition in Edinburgh, United Kingdom. On 25 and 26 September, visitors to the exhibition will be able to witness the display technology owned by the company when they visit the FDD booth (#303) at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre.

With the attribute of 2048 x 1536 pixels, the new 0.83” QXGA microdisplay is best suited for the world’s best performance near-to-eye usages such as ultra-wide field of view head-mounted displays that are a feature of immersive gaming and military training applications and electronic viewfinders for medical imaging as well as cinematography cameras.

Greg Truman, Chief Executive Officer of Fourth Dimension Displays, stated that the new QXGA microdisplay proffers the highest resolution that can be obtained in the near-to-eye microdisplay market. The QXGA display will help the partners and customers to come up with the best merchandise in the market and also offer the highest quality images for their customers. He further expressed that the organization hopes to witness a wide array of near-to-eye merchandise that will be supported by their QXGA display to come into the market during 2013.
