GigOptix, a company that provides semiconductor and optical solutions, is displaying a complete 100G/200G DP-16QAM System that incorporates CR-100B which is a 25 G coherent second generation receiver developed by the Advanced Photonix company, Picometrix and also features the GX62472 100G driver from GigOptix at the 38th European Conference and Exhibition on Optical Communications (ECOC) hosted at Amsterdam in Netherlands. GigOptix is displaying at booth number 275 at the ECOC.
The CR-100B coherent receiver supplied by Picometrix features the GX3222B Transimpedance Amplifier (TIA) from GigOptix which is a 32Gbaud, dual channel, linear TIA developed for application in DWDM 100 G optical receivers. The silicon germanium-based high performance TIA finds application in receiver modules employed in current generation fiber optic communication systems like the 100G DP]QPSK optical systems as well as next generation 4G optical systems owing to its feature that allows adjustable bandwidth control. Some of the important characteristics of the GX3222B TIA are low power consumption typically of value 660 mW, maximum differential gain of 5000 Ħ, adjustable frequency between the range 28Gbaud to 32Gbaud and linear gain accompanied by dynamic range of 30 dB.
Rob Risser, COO of Advanced Photonix Company, expressed pride at showcasing the results of the collaboration between Picometrix and GigOptix at this yearfs ECOC. Commenting on the long-standing association with GigOptix, he stated that the collaborative effort to integrate the GX3222B with the CR-100B receiver and implementing it in a 200 Gbps DP-16QAM system demonstrates the wide range of applications feasible with their advanced 100 G coherent receivers.
