Waveform Technology, a major provider of Internet bandwidth and data centers in Michigan, has reported that it has completed its South Troy Fiber Optic construction project.
The project is a fiber optic ring located in the south Troy, Michigan, to address the requirements of the businesses in that area. This ring will offer private line data services and ultra-high-speed Internet to these businesses. The south Troy area is a busy area with a high density of educational, medical and financial institutions and organizations.
The preexisting fiber optic ring in the area utilizes Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) and other such technologies to carry more than 784 Gb/s. Waveform’s new multi-strand fiber optic ring will be connected to the preexisting ring which is comparatively more larger.
Many organizations are showing increased interest in off-site disaster recovery and cloud computing solutions to address their business requirements. This has led to the necessity of high bandwidth solutions which must also be cost-effective. The fiber optic network, which is privately owned by Waveform, is an effective solution that provides cost effective high bandwidth which demonstrates speeds of up to 10 Gb/s for direct connectivity with Internet or connectivity between Waveform’s data center and client location, as well as between client locations.
The director of sales at Waveform, Rich Tota stated that the fiber optic construction project highlighted the company’s commitment to the Metro Detroit area and to Michigan.
