A Las Vegas cat veterinary medical center, All About Cats Veterinary Hospital has recently invested in an advanced endoscopic technology for more accurate diagnosis of common felines issues.
The new equipment, Storz Telepack Vet X, comes with an LCD video monitor, and can capture and report digital images as well as record video of the camera's-eye views.
Dr. Terri Koppe of the All About Cats Veterinary Hospital stated that this endoscopy promotes a less invasive technique to diagnose intestinal ailments and other feline issues. This methodology facilitates examination of intestinal tract, reduces risks and promotes quick recovery. Kope added that the endoscope is also capable of detecting inflammatory bowel disease or IBD, which is common in cats and is proved to be dangerous. The disease is accompanied with a number of symptoms like change in appetite, weight loss, diarrhea and vomiting. In the IBD, the intestinal lining contains inflammatory cells, which affect the ability of the intestines to function normally and if not detected, can become cancerous. The endoscope is a vital diagnostic tool when compared to exploratory surgery.
Dr. Koppe also stated that many cat owners hesitate to allow exploratory surgery and due to this, cats continue to suffer the symptoms, but endoscopy can save time and lives, similar to humans receiving regular screening colonoscopies. This procedure is also used to detect disorders like urinary and nasal issues other than intestinal problems.
All About Cats Veterinary Hospital is one of the few exclusive facilities in Las Vegas which has the necessary tools, training, experience and knowledge in feline anatomy and pathology. The hospital at present is offering endoscopic procedures at a discounted price.
