Futronic Technology has declared the commercial launch of FS28 FIPDS201/POV Blue Tooth Fingerprint Scanner.
This fingerprint scanner offers high performance in optical fingerprint scanning and has a Bluetooth interface. It runs on a rechargeable lithium battery. This is a portable and compact device and captures fingerprint in WSQ compressed or binary format that can be transferred to smart phones or other mobile devices instantly. This wireless transmission helps in transferring, processing and storing the fingerprint instantly and to get matching results immediately for law enforcement personnel to verify the suspect’s identity immediately. It can also be used alone as an identity checking device at remote locations when power supply and mobile network are not available.
The FBI certified this FS28 so that it conforms to the PIV-071006 Image Quality Specification for Single Finger Reader, for Personal Identification Verification (PIV) of Federal Employees and Contractors and meeting the needs of the US Federal Information Processing Standard 201(FIPS 201).
YM Jiang, Futronic's Marketing Director stated that FS28 was developed to meet the growing need for a simple but high performance mobile ID solution and this was developed so that it had a simple Bluetooth interface instead of adding WiFi and 3G facilities. This helped users to carry just one smart phone instead of two different phones. The investment of this mobile ID is also less and is an advantage to those who are in the Law enforcement force.
