Yokogawa Electric has announced the successful completion of a sales and distribution agreement with the US affiliate of Olympus. As per the agreement, Olympus America will exclusively distribute CellVoyager CV1000, an all-in-one confocal microscopy system from Yokogawa, in the Canadian and US markets.
Yokogawa, by collaborating with Olympus America in sales and taking advantage of the company’s service and sales network in Canada and the US, plans to enlarge the sales of its confocal microscopy systems in North America.
The CellVoyager CV1000 system is designed to examine live cells’ biological changes for a longer period without cell damages. This all-in-one benchtop system comes with fully integrated segments such as a precise X-Y stage, EMCCD and an incubator that has capacity to maintain humidity, fixed temperature and CO2 level. It streamlines the job of watching live cells and removes the requirement to make such systems from separately bought segments. The CellVoyager CV1000 has become very popular after reaching the market in January.
Yokogawa, through the collaborative agreement, will benefit from the solid sales and well rooted service network of Olympus America in North America. On the other hand, Olympus America is planning to enlarge its product line-up in order to strengthen its drug discovery research market coverage. Through the sales of the confocal microscopy systems, both companies are looking forward to mutually beneficial business in the North American biomedical research market.
