Ljusarkitektur, Swedish lighting designer, teamed up with Lumenpulse to turn ski resorts into a magical experience. This ski resort is recognized as one of the world’s best ski resorts by Condé Nast Traveller, which is a British travel magazine. The ski resort is located near to the Arctic Circle in Sweden.
The light is used to give a night-time experience, thus increasing the revenue of the resorts by prolonging its operating hours for a long time after dark. For the lighting attraction, Ljusarkitektur got its inspiration from the local tales of giants and trolls.
Kai Piippo, creative director at Ljusarkitektur, stated that this is the landscape as well an experience project, and they have used the best technology to create this project.
Approximately 240 color-changing Lumenpulse luminaires have been used to create an eerie moonlight glow over the slopes to draw an attraction, and this has increased the night-time economy of the resort. Lumenbeam projectors such as Red Dot Product Design Award winning Lumenbeam LBX were used in this project. Lumenpulse fixtures were also used in this project as they are easy to motioning, offer high performance, and can resist sub-zero temperature and extreme weather conditions.
Lumenpulse fixtures were also used in this project to increase performance, maintenance and ability to resist sub-zero temperature, heavy snow and ice loads, and bad weather conditions. The fixtures consist of addressable LED boards.
Ljusarkitektur has developed the lighting scheme based on local folklore tales. It also saves energy as LEDS are used. Lumenpulse's dual chamber technology maintains Lumenbeam fixtures even under extreme conditions. The LEDs and drivers are provided in different compartments, so that the drivers can be changed without replacing the fixtures, and can be accessed easily.
