Geo Tactical Solutions (GTS) has provided on-site training for Portuguese Army Special Forces at Lisbon, Portugal. By participating in this training, the personnel learned to use the newly acquired G700SE-M Tactical Long-Range GPS Camera Kits.
The kits include major components such as 2x and 8x zoom teleconverter lenses, G700SE-M tactical rugged GPS camera, laser range finder, and a 65x zoom spotting scope, which can be attached to the G700SE-M camera for perfect photo capture and improved long-range observation.
According to Geo Tactical Solutions VP, Jim Kidd, the specifically designed and ruggedized G700SE-M digital camera, laser range finder and long range optics integrate to generate high quality geo-tagged images with information ‘memos’ that is in-built within the ‘exif header’ of all jpeg images. FoxView, the associated software plug-in, enables simple mapping of images present in the field, followed by integrating the data with GIS applications including Google Earth, ArcGIS, FalconView, GeoSuite, and TIGR, and instantly produces photo-enhanced reports.
Combining the G700SE-M GPS camera with the long-range spotting scope, operators can detect and capture objects at distances extending to 1,000 m. The G700SE-M consists of advanced GPS receiver and electronic compass through which operators can precisely record the GPS coordinates such as Decimal Degrees, LAT/LONG, MGRS, and more. The direction of the camera during capture can also be recorded. When the camera is equipped with a laser range finder, the GPS location and distance of an object being captured can be recorded by simply pressing a button.
