L-com, a producer and innovator of wired and wireless connectivity products, has complemented its portfolio with ruggedized, industrial, and mil-spec fiber optic products as well as connector/adapter dust covers, connectors, and adapters.

Designed for the "ST" fiber connector type, these new products serve a broad range of shipboard, military, spacecraft, aircraft, and land-based applications in harsh environments.
The two newly added lines of products comply with the military specification MIL-C-83522. These products are specifically designed to be commercial off-the-shelf ruggedized. Furthermore, dust covers with lanyards, connectors, and couplers have also been included. Both configurations are available in options such as 2, 2.5, and 3mm fiber types. Component bodies are being offered in stainless steel or nickel plated brass. The connectors are available in non-locking or locking styles.
L-com offers IP66/67-rated fiber cables, insensitive (BI) fiber cables, and military grade 62.5/125 fiber optic patch cables that represent the sensitivity of fiber optic technology's to environmental conditions. The newly-added products are compatible and flexible for custom cable creation in factories or plants entailing ruggedized or military standards.
Product Manager, David Gallagher said that for several years, the connectivity industry relies on L-com’s extensive fiber optic products that form the industry’s basis. The company intends to offer special fiber applications. The industry products are validated for high quality, and therefore ensure in meeting special fiber applications.
