Panasonic introduced the new AG-HPX600 camera recorder during the NAB 2012 event. This new P2 HD camera recorder offers a 10-bit, 4:2:2 AVC-Intra recording and weighs only 3 kg, making it the lightest shoulder-mount unit.
The AG-HPX600 utilizes low power and integrates the latest 2/3 type MOS sensor to generate brilliant HD and SD images. In addition, high sensitivity of F12 at 59.94 Hz and a signal-to-noise ratio of 59dB will be achieved by the AG-HPX600. It also supports DVCPRO50, AVC-Intra100/50, DVCPRO HD, DVCPRO and DV as standard. For global applications, it supports 50 Hz and 59.94 Hz switchable features.
The AG-HPX600 future-proof camera is capable of providing enhanced workflows and inventive functionality. Its options include AVC-ULTRA recording, wireless metadata input, proxy recording, and variable frame rates.
The AVC-ULTRA, which will be available in 2013, will benefit users by providing master-quality and low-bit-rate 10-bit, 4:2:2 recording in Full HD. It supports mastering to transmission, unlike AG-HPX600 that fails to support AVC-ULTRA formats.
The HPX600 includes wireless and wired connection capability, compatible with Gigabit Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and USB. The interchangeable lens camera recorder will incorporate Chromatic Aberration Compensation (CAC) to achieve maximum lens performance, and Dynamic Range Stretch (DRS) function that will harmonize wide variations in lighting. The precision flash band detection and compensation software will eliminate variations.
The in-built smart user interface, along with an LCD display, allows users to access the camera’s functions. The HPX600 includes an SD Card Slot and two P2 Card Slots. The AG-HPX600 will be available in Australia by September 2012.
