Laser Light Engines (LLE), a laser-illumination innovator, has recently declared the international debut of fully-despeckled, high frame rate (HFR), wide color gamut (WCG) 3D laser projection. It was displayed on a silver 3D screen at the NAB Technology Symposium on Cinema (TSC), on April 14, 2012.
A guest lecture on ‘Laser Illumination Systems for 2D and 3D Digital Cinema’ was presented by LLE’s founder and EVP of Business Development, Bill Beck.
Beck said that this collaborated live demonstration of laser 3D on a silver screen along with SONY will benefit the NAB Digital Cinema professionals. Ever since its establishment, LLE is known for its efficiency in delivering laser-based light sources that play a vital role in digital cinema.
In 2010, LLE obtained full laser despeckling on a white screen for the first time. However, more achievements are expected following the 2012 TSC and with the rapid development of 3D. Additional technologies and other advancements by LLE will help meet more challenges.
According to LLE's President and CEO, John O'Hara, this demonstration will enable LLE to advance with all the technologies needed to achieve RGB laser engines that deliver high brightness, fully despeckled 3D, on a silver screen. Furthermore, LLE products will provide unique image quality and minimal total cost of ownership in the forthcoming years.
SONY Electronics’ SVP of Digital Cinema Solutions, Gary Johns said that the company was delighted to participate in the innovative TSC demonstration along with Laser Light Engines. LLE is a well-established firm, offering advanced laser illumination systems.
