Canon Australia declared that its innovative EOS C300, the new Cinema EOS System model, has received BBC approval for HD broadcast use following its stringent test specifications.
With this approval, the EOS C300 can be used by both external and internal BBC production teams for producing a wide range of programmes to be broadcast on the BBC’s HD channel range. Following the approval of the XF305 and XF300 Full HD camcorders in January 2011, the EOS C300 is Canon’s third professional camcorder to receive this prestigious BBC approval.
The Canon EOS C300/C300 PL is a completely new digital video camcorder that is being offered in two models such as the EOS C300 and the EOS C300 PL. The EOS C300 consists of an in-built EF lens mount, through which it can retrofit with over 60 lenses among the company’s comprehensive interchangeable EF lens array. The EOS C300 PL, with a PL lens mount, is compatible with PL lenses. The camcorder consists of Super 35 mm-equivalent up to 8.29-MP CMOS sensor that is well suited for application in digital cinematography.
The EOS C300 model marks a major milestone in Canon as it integrates the company’s unique sensor and lens design to fabricate a versatile and compact camera, which is capable of delivering unique image quality and flexibility, ensuring a wide range of capture in diverse environments.
Seven new 4K EF Cinema Lens models have been included in Canon’s Cinema EOS System. They include
- Four zoom lenses with wide zoom range from 14.5 to 300 mm
- Three single-focal-length lenses meant for EF mounts
All seven new lenses are compatible with Super 35 mm-equivalent sensors and deliver exceptional 4K optical performance up to 4096x2160 px. The three single-focal-length lenses comply with 35 mm full-frame sensor- cameras.
