The exterior configuration of Olympus OM-D E-M5 is represents the architecture of classic Olympus OM-series 35mm SLRs, down to the top-deck hump enclosing the eye-level viewfinder on a digital or film SLR.

The ILC models enable the photographers to perform viewing and composing operation through the LCD screen located behind the camera. The camera’s sharp and crisp electronic viewfinder has an ultrahigh resolution of 1.44 M dots, ensuring high-quality captures.
The all-new Olympus Five-Axis Image Stabilization system stabilizes the Olympus OM-D EM-5’s 16.4-MP image sensor, eliminating blur due to hand tremors. The split-second fast autofocus is capable of tracking a moving subject. The camera’s blazing 9.2 FPS high-speed burst rate complements this enhancement.
A mix of contemporary wheels and toggle switches and retro mode dials leverage the Olympus OM-D EM-5. It is the first ILC class with splash-proof and dust-proof features. The all-new Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 12-50mm f/3.5-6.3 EZ zoom lens is made up of weatherproof configuration. This multi-featured lens complements over 12 Micro Four Thirds lenses being validated by the Olympus OM-D EM-5.
