Curtiss-Wright Controls Introduces New Version of Multi-Function Backlit LED Display

US based company Curtiss Wright Controls Defense Solutions (CWCDS), owned by Curtiss-Wright Controls, has introduced the newly upgraded version of the Skyquest AVDU1626 6.4” backlit LED display.

The Skyquest range of displays has been particularly designed for fixed-wing and helicopter platforms. The new version includes a clearer LED backlit design, along with touchscreen facility and longer life instead of the regular fluorescent tube backlighting system. The release of the enhanced version is part of the efforts by CWCDS to provide support to airborne video and display solutions in order to enhance the effectiveness of applications used in law enforcement, aerospace and defence.

The display of Skyquest AVDU1626 enables control of moving maps through touchscreen. The LED lighting provides brighter display and dimming control in the same package. The display also features a split box design where it is divided into the video processing electronics box (AVDU1627) and the display section (AVDU1626). This allows the display head unit to be installed into narrow spaces. The display provides various options ideal for use during important missions. It is usually placed in the cockpit of the aircraft in order to help the aircrew to view at the video used by the observer. The AVDU1626 is equipped with multiple video inputs, which include the S-Video, RGB Video, and Composite video and is compatible with all leading brands of camera and mapping systems that are available in the market. Other features are NVG filtered lighting, video freeze frame capability, digital zoom, quad display and picture-in-picture facility.
