Lumenera, a producer of high performance digital cameras and custom imaging solutions, has recently declared the launch of its second generation INFINITYHD 2 MP color microscopy camera.
Following the introduction of G1 camera in November 2011 and driven by subsequent customer demands, Lumenera developed an upgraded version by bringing software, hardware performance and mechanical changes. The first significant enhancement is the addition of three on-camera buttons for easy achieving image capture, power, and white balance. The second upgrade includes a property wherein upon activation or deactivation of the camera’s power and white balance, the computer software including a PC or laptop will be eliminated. These upgrades will benefit clinicians and pathologists, providing an improved work-through flow through consistent microscope slide tasks, with better image capture and analysis.
The INFINITYHD microscopy camera provides complete 1080p60 preview with rapid frame rates and excellent color reproduction. Designed with a high resolution 1/3” CMOS sensor, this camera will enable streaming video output across an HDMI connector, thereby eliminating the need for a computer. Real-time live video preview facilitates specimen placement and precise focus giving rise to instant slide reviews. The INFINITYHD digital camera of Lumenera is enhanced with an onboard auto-intensity compensation that can adjust the video stream automatically according to the regulation of light intensity and microscope objective.
Along with Olympus' BX46 clinical microscope, the INFINITYHD scientific imaging solution will be exhibited at USCAP 2012, from March 17 to 23, 2012, in Vancouver, British Columbia. Designed for screening and other routine laboratory work, the BX46, together with the INFINITYHD, greatly supports pathology and other routine laboratory work.
