Siemens has unveiled a new offering from Security Products called Vectis HX digital video recorders (DVRs). Based on the proprietary DVR technology, the new Vectis HX is a major addition to the existing Sistore products.
As the security applications require high definition images, the Vectis HX DVRs employ the 3 x security industry H's such as H.264 , Hybrid, and HD. The Vectis HX incorporates these three features to form a versatile, convenient, and cost-effective system.
Specifically designed using high definition IP cameras, the Vectis HX possesses hybrid capability that can support existing or even cameras. This unique hybrid functionality enables cost-effective upgrades to existing systems, wherein the Vectis HX is installed followed by replacing the existing cameras and integrating IP versions.
The H.264 compression enables users to witness cost saving up to 15% on an existing MJPEG installed system, providing 80% bandwidth space, thereby supporting multiple site- installations with limited bandwidth inter-site links. An integral HDMI port enables instant connection of innovative high-quality monitors. The broad configurability of Vectis HX DVRs such as large storage capacity and excellent performance allows efficient customization. The integrated cameras have HD capability, thereby generating clearer pictures. It can be used for crowd monitoring that requires the detection of individual faces, for monitoring fraudulent activity in cash registers and for recording the numbers on car plates.
The new Vectis HX DVRs are among the unique systems to offer complete support for the latest ONVIF 1.02.4 open networking protocol. In addition to its efficiency, this new security system is also cost-effective.
