Siemens Introduces High-End Imaging Systems

Siemens Healthcare has launched Agenda 2013, a global initiative which emphasizes both advanced, patient-centered technology service and cost-efficiency concerns. Siemens presents exceptional imaging methods titled ‘Accessible Innovations’, featuring high process efficiency and reduced total cost of ownership with superior image quality.

Following the introduction of Agenda 2013 in November 2011, Siemens’ Accessible Innovations has been complemented with the Acuson S1000 ultrasound system, Somatom Perspective CT scanner, and the Multix Fusion X-ray system.

Siemens’ Acuson S1000 ultrasound system enables high-quality imaging performance at a unique cost of ownership. The Acuson S1000 system consists of a broad range of transducers, with ability to execute up to 27 different exam types. It is suitable for various body types and disciplines of patients including pediatric imaging, radiology and general imaging, and obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN). By employing the Acuson AcuNav catheter, the system supports intracardiac echocardiography, strain imaging capabilities, and contrast-enhanced ultrasound.

The Somatom Perspective, an affordable and versatile 128-slice computed tomography system is the first CT system based on eMode functionality. In addition to automated adjustment of the required scan parameters, Somatom Perspective determines the right correlation between image quality, dose, and cost-efficiency. It increases the life cycle by eliminating wear and tear on the CT. It further minimizes the total cost of ownership by utilizing less space and energy.

The new Multix Fusion radiography system from Siemens offers a high-end technology to general healthcare. The Multix Fusion provides multiple components of high-end systems including a 300-kg capacity examination table, which can be adjusted for height. The Multix Fusion is available in various configurations ranging from the simplest version with ceiling-mounted tube and mobile detector to a comprehensive X-ray system including table and Bucky wall stand, and an analog and a digital version with simple upgradeability.
