ADVA Optical Networking recently declared that the information delivery platform for European business, Colt, will perform the new ROADM-based network in Dublin, Ireland, through ADVA’s FSP 3000. The infrastructure facilitates the addition of incremental bandwidth, accelerated by the FSP Service Manager.
Flexible service routing is possible through the 11-node, ring-based network that measures 100 km. As a result, the operational costs will be low with reduced lead time and planning time for new services.
The versatile ROADM networks facilitate Colt to employ integrated point-and-click configuration software and hardware pre-provisioning, thereby benefiting both the firm and its customers. As result, Colt will be able to offer excellent lead times. promoting high bandwidth services for Dublin’s business campus locations, financial institutions and data centers.
The operations director for Colt in Ireland, Ken Sherry said that the multi-degree ROADM architecture is a versatile provisioning option that improves access at nodes with growing demand in point-and-click technology. In addition, the reduced lead times will be a characteristic feature to attract several customers.
According to the Vice President, U.K. & Ireland Sales, ADVA Optical Networking, Marcello Forti, the major factor in existing networks concerned with data transportation is scalability. FSP Service Manager facilitates fast provisioning that allows Colt to improve its achievement.
The FSP 3000 is a scalable Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) system, specially fabricated to benefit large enterprises and service providers requiring an economic and efficient system that enables multiple functions like multiplex and transport in addition to protecting voice and video, high-speed data and storage applications over fiber optic networks.
