Vu1 Corporation, a producer and innovator of the company-owned energy-efficient, mercury-free general illumination lighting products, declared that it has shifted its production operations to the Huayi Lighting Company. This decision was executed following the wind-down of its manufacturing operation at Czech Republic’s Sendio facility.
According to the Chairman of Vu1, William B. Smith, following the former assessment of the company’s existing manufacturing facilities, the Board expressed its decision to shift Vu1’s manufacturing operation to the Huayi Lighting Company. The truce for Sendio facility was achieved on February 13, 2012. By transferring the manufacturing operations to Huayi Lighting, both near- and long-term business targets can be accomplished in a cost-effective manner. The global growth strategy can be effectively carried out as a result of this strategic transition. This will ultimately promote profits and increase shareholder value and financial status.
Vu1’s lighting products will be manufactured by Huayi Lighting. The products include A19, R30, and R40 bulbs for Lowe’s, Seattle Lighting and Avspar International, and various other distribution facilities. The shift from the Sendio facility to Huayi Lighting will facilitate Vu1to conserve $4M in annual fixed costs besides increasing the company’s cash flows.
