Diodes is a recognized worldwide producer and distributer of choice application specific standard products within the broad discrete, analog and logic semiconductor markets. The novel ZXLD1371 LED driver controller was newly launched by the company.
The ZXLD1371 has been designed based on the approach where the input voltage operation has been brought down from 60 V to 5.0 V. This unique design serves various applications such as 12 V AC powered systems and automotive lighting, where increased variation in input voltage is experienced. It has the potential to handle external driver FET in buck-boost, buck and boost driver topologies. This design is considered to be an absolute solution with a high precision level to power 20 high-current LEDs in boost mode.
The ZXLD1371 utilizes patent pending control loops and single resistor high-side current sensing to yield 1% typical output current tolerance, thereby upgrading lamp luminance matching and brightness control. With the LED driver controller, the users can experience extensive dimming via individual 1000:1 PWM dimming and 20:1 DC dimming capabilities that deliver precision light control at decreased brightness levels.
The ZXLD1371 also facilitates thermal management of LEDs with the help of a flexible external thermistor input integrated with fault diagnostic outputs that deliver LED load and driver status reports, thereby increasing the durability of LED. This results in increased consistency of LED lamp systems. The TSSOP-16EP packaged LED driver controller, when powered up to 1 MHz, decreases the circuit size by minimizing the external inductor value.
