Nexxus Lighting has declared that its ENERGY STAR qualified Array R30 3000K Flood and 3000K Accent LED light bulbs were subjected to the last round of lumen maintenance testing and have completed the same successfully. In October 2010, both the bulbs were ENERGY STAR qualified. These bulbs with a prolonged life span of 50,000 h are now ready for market.
The first LED reflector lamp replacements to win the absolute 50,000 hour certification is the Array R30's. The certification was awarded based on its compliance to all the performance standards required by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and attaining the requisite 12,500 h of third party lumen maintenance testing. The main criteria considered by EPA include color rendering, lumen and color maintenance, efficiency, and others. The 45W equivalent bulbs consume less than 8W each, and are dimmable.
The President and CEO of Nexxus Lighting, Mike Bauer says that the entire Array LED bulbs have been designed to go beyond the ENERGY STAR performance criteria. The product from Nexxus tops the ENERGY STAR Qualified Lamps list. The company is the first producer with LED reflector lamp replacements with durability of 50,000 h. Several other Array bulbs await testing for the ENERGY STAR label. The company anticipates to further launch superior quality, high performance LED replacement lamps in the market.
An innovative patented approach to thermal management has been employed by Array LED bulbs. This assures the bulb to be capable of reliable operation of over 50,000 h. It utilizes 80% less energy than the other equivalent halogen and incandescent bulbs.
