The St. Anthony Breast Center offers 3-D and digital mammogram technology services. An open house will be hosted at its premises on Jan 26, 2012.
The high-tech center is among the first in the Rocky Mountain area to introduce 3-D breast tomosynthesis, facilitating patients with the benefits of this novel technology’s benefits.
St. Anthony Breast Center's medical director, Raymond Mencini says that breast tomosynthesis is an innovation in the field of diagnostic mammography. It serves as a modern tool, which is far ahead the two-dimensional images of conventional mammography and facilitates accurate three-dimensional views, examining the breast and surrounding tissue enabling detection of breast cancer, well in advance.
The treatment environment at St. Anthony Breast Center has been set similar to a spa. This center is located adjacent to St. Anthony hospital.
According to Breast Center manager Wendy Meadows, the health center works specially for the betterment of women. A team of specialized and certified imaging technologists, radiologists, along with a permanent breast health navigator offer special private assistance and advice, following the diagnosis and examination. This will contribute to proper treatment and follow-up. The breast radiologist analyzes the images on a daily basis to help provide the patients with the right solutions. Following the observation, the team works together to carry out the right medical procedure. The patients have also been suggested to seek the assistance of a genetic counselor proficient in treating breast cancer and other surgical and oncology professionals. This team will thus contribute to a rapid, early detection and treatment of cancer.
