JDSU declared that its T-BERD/MTS-8000 V2 40 G/100 G Transport Module has been selected by the Southern Cross Cable Network for offering seamless high-bandwidth services over its high-speed submarine, trans-Pacific cable infrastructure. This novel solution results from the company’s trusted T-BERD/MTS-8000 product line that benefits several key telecommunication operators globally.
JDSU T-BERD/MTS-8000 V2 supports the Southern Cross Cable Network‘s upgrade from 10G to 40G and ultimately to 100G in order to fulfill the high-bandwidth application requirement and related services. Internet channels between New Zealand, Australia, and the United States are being maintained by the company’s service providers.
According to engineering services manager of Southern Cross Cable Network Brian Smith, the JDSU solution provides the necessary functions to improve its infrastructure, and leverages the network system to furnish the customers with quality delivery of higher bandwidth services.
With JDSU's T-BERD/MTS-8000 V2, the Southern Cross technicians experience remote visibility of the traffic on 40G network when applied for field tests including troubleshooting, maintenance, and installation. Identification of Network troubleshoots are now facilitated through the new 40G/100G transport module. Transmission of critical data is immediately carried over to the Southern Cross Network Operations Center in Auckland, New Zealand. This results in analysis and resolution. Southern Cross, through this T-BERD/MTS-8000 V2, meets the standards of optical transport network, thereby improving the optical network’s functionality.
The bandwidth of 10G technology is improved with the introduction of new OTU3/OTU4 and 40G/100G Ethernet standards. The JDSU T-BERD/MTS-8000 V2 provides efficient testing and troubleshooting for Carrier Ethernet, government telecommunications centers, long haul and metro-core networks.
