GE Healthcare Reveals Discovery IGS 730 for Interventional X-ray Imaging

GE Healthcare revealed the Discovery IGS 730 interventional system, which is designed to capture the advantages of both floor - and ceiling-mounted systems.

Laser guided motion technology on a motorised gantry is used to guide the system anywhere in the room to facilitate precise and predictable trajectories.

Discovery IGS 730 is 510k pending with the FDA and unavailable for sale in the United States.

The Wide Bore design makes 3D acquisitions easy and is well-suited for patients who have a large frame. The Discovery IGS 730 is designed to suit a new era of interventional and minimally invasive procedures.
The CEO of GE Healthcare Interventional Systems claims that Discovery IGS 730 has the potential to revolutionize the field of interventional imaging. It enables full access to the patient without the need to suspend above the patient, and provides the mobility of a C-arm with the power and image quality of a fixed imaging system.
The C-arm is mounted on an Advanced Guided Vehicle (AGV) for complete and motorised mobility. Based on laser guidance, the AGV can move freely from imaging position to parking or back-out positions following predefined trajectories for easy access to patients. Another feature in the Discovery IGS 730 is One-Touch-Back-Out for hassle free gantry movement directed away from the patient. The locations to park the device and the back-out distances can be tailored to suit the configuration of the room. The Discovery IGS 730 is equipped with than 20 advanced applications.
