The Frost & Sullivan North American Product Leadership Award for the year 2011 has been conferred on the Universal Clinical Platform (UCP3) from Acuo Technologies.
The UCP3 platform incorporates DICOM Services Grid and has won the recognition of being a top medical imaging IT middleware solution for complete lifecycle management. The features offered by the imaging system are image management, workflow, data migration and analytics applications like Web Services.
The principal analyst at Frost & Sullivan, Nadim Daher, explained that the UCP3 platform meets the current demands of medical imaging like long term storage of vast data and independence from PACS vendors etc. The research carried out by Frost & Sullivan on medical imaging technologies establishes that the UCP3 platform is built on leading edge vendor neutral archiving (VNA) capabilities. Acuo Technologies has been working on VNA techniques for almost a decade now and incorporates advanced technologies such as IT virtualization, cloud computing and service oriented delivery. Apart from its expertise in DICOM technologies, Acuo has also delved into enterprise content management (ECM) and non-DICOM imaging. Daher added that Acuo is focussed on providing image-enable electronic medical records (EMR) and healthcare information exchanges (HIE). Their technological offerings attract providers of imaging components across various producers thereby synchronising various PACS and RIS systems. The UCP3 provides access to data which is more fluid by aligning healthcare providers, payers and patients. The platform is highly flexible and scalable which suits customers from large, small or centralised IT ecosystems.
