Zebra Imaging, a global provider of visualization technologies and 3D holographic displays has declared that its holographic real-time ZCape Motion Display was chosen as one among the 50 best inventions of 2011 by TIME magazine. The ZScape Motion Display is the first, full- parallax, real-time, interactive holographic light-field display.
Supported by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) a model of the ZScape Motion Display (ZMD) technology was designed under the Urban Photonic Sandtable Display (UPSD) Program. The prototype can be scaled diagonally from 6 in to 6 ft , and helps in visualizing the streaming sensor data, without any additional visual aids or 3-D goggles. This allows 3D data that includes cityscapes, topography, and other crucial information to be visualized and exhibited by almost 20 concurrent users, thus allowing rapid and precise planning, collaboration and consensus-building.
TIME Magazine's identification of this novel 3D holographic technology is an additional approval of this innovative invention. This magazine’s yearly recognition of 50 chief inventions includes many of the innovative products of the past ten years in Arts, Science and Technology like the first synthetic cells and the iPad
The company’s new holographic products and technologies are being employed to view compicated 3D information obtained from multiple software programs and 3D data sources by several industrial professionals from advanced architecture and engineering firms and defense and civil agencies.
