Metrasens, a provider of ferromagnetic safety solutions for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), signed a contract with Invivo, a medical diagnostic imaging facility provider, for distributing its ferroguard series of products, in the US.
Ferromagnetic objects, even when accidentally brought into the MRI suite will be attracted forcefully into the magnet usually with an irresistible force. These kind of accidents end up in reported deaths, staff and patient injuries, and damage to advanced, expensive MRI scanners. The company’s technology support, Ferroguard, is being extensively employed in hospitals to protect from intrinsically dangerous objects entering the MRI room and for pre-screening of staff and patients by making it a part of the facility’s safety procedures.
Dr. Simon Goodyear, CEO of Metrasens says that the company’s collaboration with Invivo will provide them with a better capability to cater to the customers' requirements with the advancement in businesses. It also shares its vision with Invivo, which includes presenting technological and creative solutions to improve and establish safety in the MRI environment. He also added that this partnership will offer improved tools for this important purpose to customers.
Invivo, being a subsidiary of Philips Healthcare, offers solutions to MRI facilities, with the manufacture of advanced image visualization systems, novel RF coils, and MRI patient vital signs monitoring products. The Ferroguard adds value to the company’s product series by offering its support in establishing patient safety and care during MRI procedures.
