Cortina Systems, a provider of novel technologies that interconnect people and global networks, has introduced the CS605x, an exclusive series of integrated transport processors for the converged 100G market, offering the first ASSP product series for the aggregation and transportation of 10, 40 and 100G signals.
Since there is a high bandwidth demand due to services that include video streaming, hosted application services and mobile data merged with cloud computing has caused service providers to improve capacity and accelerate networks by using 40 and 100G wavelengths. The CS605x satisfies both Ethernet and Optical network demand directing new applications for the 100G converged markets with carrier ethernet, data centers, core and edge router applications, packet optical transport and DWDM.
The Cortina CS605x device series is the first ASSP solution globally that focuses on the evolving 100G markets. It also provides optical transport networking (OTN), FEC leadership and sophisticated analog integration. This network also aids 3x40G (OTU3 & 40GE) and 100G (OTU4 & 100GE), thus accomplishing mapping and aggregation of multiple protocols and client applications at 10, 40 and 100 Gbps rates.
The network offers assistance for IEEE 1588v2 Transparent Clock mode, as specified in IEEE P1588D2.2. Integrated jitter attenuation and clean up PLLs provide considerable savings in board real estate, power and cost. The network offers high-gain 100G forward error correction (100G HG-FEC) and also comprises a 120G-capable interlaken packet interface to TMs, NPUs and FPGAs
