Korean luminaire manufacturer Ilsung Moolsan has chosen LED arrays from US-based Bridgelux, which specialises in developing and manufacturing LED lighting technologies. The company ‘s energy efficient LED arrays were chosen for the installation of 1000 down lights in the newly constructed Sheraton Hotel located at D-Cube City in Seoul.
The arrays have been chosen to light particular areas of the hotel such as the lobby, banquet halls, lounge, public gathering area, sauna and indoor swimming pool. The lights will save energy up to 63% as compared to compact fluorescent down lights of halogen lights.
According to John Cho, who is the President of Ilsung Moolsan, the company chose the LED arrays from Bridgelux using its ability to deliver reliable and high quality lighting that will match the standards of Sheraton Hotel. Apart from providing high performance LED light sources to OEMs to help them support and enhance their portfolio, Bridgelux also supports the Korean government through its “LED Lighting 2060 Plan,” which was launched recently to encourage greater energy efficiency through LED lighting.
Bridgelux has its light source patented and this technology replaces conventional lighting such as high intensity discharge lighting, halogen lighting, fluorescent lights and incandescent lights. The company has applied for a total of 550 patents all over the world, which have either been granted or pending and it also specialises in designing its light sources according to customer solutions.
